Announcing the Opening of Liquid Light Lab
I am pleased to announce the launch of Liquid Light Lab — a dedicated film processing service built for those who value craft, character, and precision in their analogue photography.
For years, I’ve been immersed in both sides of the photographic world — creating work with musicians, Hollywood actors, directors, and everyday clients who simply wanted something exceptional, and guiding fellow photographers through the nuances of analogue technique. Alongside this, I’ve refined my own approach to developing film — an approach rooted in consistency, detail, and the same artistic sensibility that runs through my photography.

Liquid Light Lab is the culmination of that experience. Every roll that passes through the lab is hand-processed, with a deliberate focus on bringing out the distinctive qualities of each film stock. Whether it’s the cinematic tones of Kodak Vision3, the timeless character of Double-X, or the subtle depth of black-and-white emulsions in 510 Pyro, my aim is always to deliver results that do justice to both the medium and the photographer behind the camera.
Unlike many labs, I don’t offer “economy” or “standard” tiers of scanning. Only premium scans are provided, produced through a professional-grade system that preserves the richness, grain, and tonal depth of film. Your negatives are treated with the same care I apply to my own work — carefully developed, accurately colour-balanced, and ready to be shared, printed, or archived.

What makes Liquid Light Lab different is not just the technical side, but the perspective behind it. I approach film not as a technician, but as a photographer with a cinematographic eye. The choices I make in development and scanning are guided by that sensibility: light interpreted with depth, mood, and fidelity. It’s this blend of craft and vision that gives the lab its signature look — images that retain the natural character of film while achieving clarity and nuance that digital alone can’t replicate.
Liquid Light Lab is now open, accepting film from across the UK. Whether you’re a seasoned film shooter or someone rediscovering analogue after years away, you’ll find in this lab a partner committed to making your images sing.
