Film Development — Liquid Light Lab

Liquid Light Lab is a specialist film development service based in Royal Leamington Spa, serving photographers across the UK by post.

Every roll is developed individually, never mass-processed. Colour negative film is processed to C-41 standards, motion-picture film through ECN-2, and black & white film developed using Pyrogallol for tonal separation and highlight control.

Premium, high-resolution scans are included with every order as standard. There are no scan tiers, no upgrades, and no automated shortcuts.

Your film is handled with the same discipline and process control used in my own commissioned work.

Portraits on Real Film

Studio and location portraits for individuals, couples, and families who want photographs that feel natural, confident, and unmistakably them.

Sessions are calm, unhurried, and guided — no forced poses, no artificial polish. Whether you’re commissioning a personal portrait, marking a moment with someone you love, or creating images you’ll live with for years, the focus is on presence, expression, and authenticity.

These are portraits made to be kept — images that still make sense of who you were when you look back at them years from now.

Film photography for brands, artists, and publications

From live performances and premieres to talks, launches, and cultural events, film produces images with authority, depth, and permanence. Almost every iconic event photograph in history was captured on film — not because it was fashionable, but because it delivers material that endures.

Your event is documented with intent, clarity, and atmosphere, producing photographs suitable for press, promotion, and long-term archive use. The result is imagery that doesn’t date, doesn’t feel disposable, and holds its ground as serious editorial work.

This is where the discipline behind the work is documented — film stocks, chemistry choices, optical behaviour, lighting decisions, and full analogue workflows. It exists to show how results are achieved, not just what they look like.

Handled with care, from camera to final image

Every service is built on a defined, controlled process — from film development to commissioned photography.

Work is planned, executed, and delivered with consistency and care, so results are dependable and repeatable. Nothing is left to chance, shortcuts, or automated correction after the fact.

For film customers, that means individual roll handling and premium scans as standard. For photography clients, it means deliberate capture, reliable delivery, and results that stand up long-term.
